Thanks for the resounding encouragement and ideas and support for our road trip idea. You are all so kind and helpful and it was starting to seem like a reality. But then things got more complicated.
Jared needs to help his brother run the Loosli farm for a while. It's potato harvest time and some hard circumstances have made it obvious that Jared should be using his flexible schedule to help at the farm rather than doing a road trip.
I was really getting excited about this trip. But it's amazing how dreams like a road trip can quickly be dwarfed and quite painlessly tucked away when obvious higher priorities come into view.
We'll do the road trip another time!

Your kids are probably now learning an even greater lesson from NOT going, than they would have from going. It really is about perspective and priorities sometimes, isn't it?
