One old tyme remedy for croup ...Oh, I am so sorry! One old tyme remedy for croup that actually works wonders is to go sit outsite snuggled in a blanket (only if it is cold out) There is something about croup that is immediately helped with the colder weather. If not, use a humidifier and not the vaporizer. Put the child right by it and put one in the childs room, your room and the living room if possible. The cool moist air is what seems to help the most.
